![]() Starting today, AoE III: DE will be offering new players the opportunity to play from a selection of rotating civilizations and other features like the ‘Blood’ Story Mode campaign, the Algiers Historical Battle, along with the tutorial and The Art of War challenge. Now is the time to try Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition! Play for the first time or current AoE III: DE players can invite their friends for epic battles in striking 4K Ultra HD graphics. LoL & DotA2 are both less demanding on the system than AoE2DE due to optimization, so don't go around thinking you can use benchmarks for them as a metric for AoE2DE purposes.Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is launching a new way to play! For the first time, new players can now join the ranks of this historical and stunning RTS experience with a rotating roster of the game’s 16 civilizations which can be played in both single player and multiplayer games FREE of purchase on Steam. One site I found claims that it does not hit 30 fps in Anno 1800 (the closest comparison I could see on that site) using 1920x1080 resolution (ie HD). Iris XE should clear the minimum requirements, but do not expect stellar performance. Enjoy a new way to play this much-loved game on console including optimizations for playing with a controller and new tutorials to get you into the fun quickly. If you want to play using HD resolution on a Dell laptop, I would highly recommend the XPS 15 with a GTX1650 unless you're willing to risk poor performance. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is one of the most beloved strategy games ever made and is now available across Xbox platforms. But Iris Xe is supposed to be a significant step up. I used to play on just regular intel on board graphics. AoE2 HD was fine with much lower specifications. I know this game was appallingly optimised when it was first released but I was hoping it might have improved enough since then. But I am not sure if this will be as portable as I would like. I could go for an XPS 15 but I need to hold one in my hands to see how truly portable they are. I do a lot of work in Excel and that application mostly relies on a decent single core speed. Whatever it is I think an i7 or Ryzen equivalent is what I need. I can play a less demanding RTS games on the rare occasions that I have time to play when travelling. It's not the end of the world if I can't play AoE2. It's hard to get an ultraportable with a decent gpu. ![]() ![]() And it has a built in webcam unlike the ASUS Zephyrus. I was dead set keen on getting an Asus Zephyrus G14 but I like the battery life and ultrabook portability of the XPS 13 (and the thin bezels etc). I have a reasonable budget, probably up to AUD $3000 (USD$2200). The xe even tho is decent its a lot worse then an old gtx 1050 mobile, for gaming its not worth getting. If your budget is less then that you should really try and get one with atleast a 1650 ti/super or better for a fun experience. Not sure what your budget is but a i5/i7 + rtx 2060 should be around or below €/$1000 and would demolish both of these cards. ![]() Originally posted by Fusi0nking:The iris xe is decent, but if you really want to enjoy playing you should opted for a dedicated gpu. ![]()
